While it was 30+ degrees outside, the table tennis center Stiphouse fought for the Top 12 challenge cups. This tournament has been played for almost 30 years and due to the high level and the number of matches, it is a perfect preparation for the new competition. In Stiphouse, too, the temperature rose to sauna height: from 22.5 degrees at the start to 26 degrees at the end of the tournament.
Many beautiful and exciting matches were played and we also saw a lot of talent among the youth players. Eventually Ryan Sanders and Liang Deiss played the final of the youth tournament. Despite the heat, the players opted for a 'best-of-seven' match that Ryan eventually won 4-2. After the club championship, Ryan takes the 'double'.
The seniors also made it exciting. The final was between Peter Schuurhof and Carlo Seelen. In a 'best-of-five' the chances flew back and forth and Peter was ultimately the winner. He narrowly defeated Carlo in 5 games.
