From Wednesday to Saturday (15 to 18 November) the Stiphoutse AvondWielerVierDaagse (AW4D) takes place. Every evening from 19:30, except on Saturday, when we start at 19:00. Place to be: Wielerpaleis De Smed, Dorpsstraat 40 in Stiphout.
16 teams and 32 riders are at the start to reach the top of the rankings night after night during the sprint, pursuit races and the madison. Every night there is also a celebrity race, where well-known Stiphout people or associations compete with each other in a fun way. Before the celebrity races a lottery is held, where very nice prizes can be won. The celebrities themselves bring gifts that are auctioned off by American auction.
On Wednesday evening, the prominent figures are the chairmen of Fanfare De Vooruitgang, the Sint Antoniusgilde, PSV Sint Trudoruiters and Stiphout Vooruit. On Thursday evening, four people from the Van den Berkmortel family of entrepreneurs will get on their bikes. On Friday evening, it is the turn of neighbourhood and friends associations de Badraoven, de Boezemvrienden, de Koolgasten and de Torenrakkers. On Saturday evening, it is the prince and three former princes who traditionally get on their bikes.
This year the organization is in the hands of TTV Stiphout and De Stiphoutse Vlooienmarkt. The proceeds of this event are for 50% for TTV Stiphout and 50% for De Stiphoutse Vlooienmarkt.
